I believe in the individual's power to self-heal through a process of awakening of their inner knowledge. My counseling approach is collaborative as the client learns to manage difficulties while they gain awarenss of their own potential.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, and a Clinical Psychologist degree from Universidad Católica in Ecuador. I completed Attachment-Focused EMDR training at the Parnell Institute in California in 2016 and am currently a certified EMDR therapist with EMDRIA. With extensive experience as a Chemical Dependency Counselor since 1995, I have specialized training in Motivational Enhancement Therapies and completed Level I Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training with the SPI Institute. Additionally, I provide clinical supervision for LPC interns.

My work also centers on the psychological and emotional challenges associated with immigration, including navigating displacement, and adjustment, while also addressing the effects of racism and oppression on mental health and well-being.

I have worked a combined 25 years as Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Therapist in Portland.  In addition to my private practice. My educational, professional and personal experience in different worlds and life challenges allows me to have profound perspective of the potential humans have to innerly thrive despite outer barriers.
